this Christmas
Did you know that the Christmas season comprises roughly 60% of all greeting card sales each year? The first Christmas greeting card was made by John Calcott Horsley, who painted a scene with a family enjoying Christmas festivities. Americans began importing the Xmas greetings from England in large numbers. In 1875, Louis Prang brought greeting cards from Germany to the US by opening a local print shop and designing scenes of the nativity, wintry wonderlands and children playing with toys. Today, card giving is just as popular as it was 150 years ago, if not more so. There is a wide selection of options for all price ranges and creative whims.
