When you play poker on a weekly basis you will find that your chips will need to be cleaned every 2-3 months. Get a container of mild soap and warm water, a soft toothbrush and a cotton cloth for drying.
Initially you will take your toothbrush and dip it into the warm soapy water, then shake it to get rid of the water. Carefully brush the poker chips individually and be sure not to wet the label. Put each chip on a clean surface to dry out overnight.
When the chips are done drying, it’s time do give them a light oiling. Oiling your clay poker chips helps retard other fluids that might otherwise stain your chips. It also helps prevent your chips from wearing away into nothingness.
Get some mineral oil from your local store and put a couple drops on your finger tips. Now rub down your chips individually until you feel like you need some more oil. Then apply a couple more drops to your fingers and keep on going. When you’re done, place the chips out to dry overnight once again.
This may take a little while but this small investment of time is well worth it. This is because it will make certain that you will be able to enjoy your clay poker chips for a long time to come.
