brief intervention
It can be difficult to pinpoint the right moment to seek intervention services, especially if the problem is ongoing. For you, the trouble is obvious but chances are your loved one is so deeply embedded in a pattern of irrational behavior and intense emotion that they’re continually trying to justify their delinquent behavior. Often, the afflicted can’t see a way out and they require an intervention program to break bad habits, replacing them with positive coping skills instead. While your loved one’s initial reaction might be shock mingled with anger, over time most people can’t thank their friends and families enough for lending a helping hand at that pinnacle moment when it was literally, in their retrospective estimation; “do or die.”
